Lay Minister of Missions
Luke Shannon's role as lay minister of missions is to encourage, heal, and evangelize. Luke is passionate about living into the ministerial purpose that God has given him and exciting others to live into their own purpose from God. Luke enjoys finding opportunities to encourage others inside and outside the church.
Luke Shannon is a 2020 graduate from Lancaster Theological Seminary and is currently in-care with the Metropolitan Community Church seeking ordination. During seminary, Luke completed a clergy internship at MCC of the Lehigh Valley and a clinical pastoral education unit at WellSpan York. Before attending seminary, Luke graduated with his undergraduate degree in 2017, in which he studied biblical studies and Christian ministry with a leadership emphasis at Kentucky Christian University. During his undergraduate studies, he was the ministerial intern at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Huntington, WV.
Luke Shannon's background includes growing up United Methodist, working as a nurse aide, raising Seeing Eye puppies, hosting international students, and international travel. Luke is excited to see where God leads him as a missionary--especially in the realms of health, healing, and wellness. He often quotes Jesus' words in Matthew 9:37 (NLT): "The harvest is great, but the workers are few." It is Luke's goal to be a Kingdom worker and to excite others to be as well. May God bring peace, joy, healing, and wholeness to all who read these words. Amen.
